Celebrate World Tai Chi & Qigong Day with us April 27, 2024!

Here’s your opportunity to experience what’s so great about Tai Chi and Qigong! This is a free event to celebrate these arts.

The schedule will include:

  • Qigong warm up
  • The 5 Moving Forces Tai Chi form  (an easy flowing form honoring nature and the 5 Elements)
  • 1st Circle Wood Tai Chi form (a gentle form with roots in Yang style)
  • 1st of the 6 energies (entry to push hands with partner) or Yang symbol solo centering work (your choice)
  • Yang Style Short Form (24) Tai Chi form
  • Yang Style Long Form Part 1 – learn the first few moves of this martial form
  • Qigong to close out the practice

We’ll be outside at Stage Fort Park in Gloucester, MA from 10AM-12PM. From the main parking lot, head toward the white gazebo then turn right and walk down through the baseball field toward the water. You’ll see us under the big tree.

Bring your friends and family and all those interested in Tai Chi & Qigong. This is an opportunity to see what these arts are all about and participate as you wish. All levels welcome to this free event.

Beginner Tai Chi Class series!

Suzanne at Energize Body & Mind is offering a beginner Tai Chi class. Yang style short form for beginners, a 7 week series, starts Thursday, October 19, 2023 in Gloucester, MA.

Tai Chi is an ideal form of exercise for all aspects of health care. Its benefits include:

The Eight Pieces of Brocade Qigong set
Qigong works by regulating breath, reducing stress and tension in the body, and mobilizing joints, for starters. There are thousands of ways to practice qigong including seated practices, standing practices, challenging movements and flows, and calming meditations. Scientific studies have highlighted several practices as having potential to prevent certain diseases. One of these practices is Ba Duan Jin, or The Eight Pieces of Brocade. This qigong set is one of the most widely practiced in China and around the world for health and longevity.The best thing you can do for yourself is prevent illness by building a strong body and mind. Tai Chi and Qigong will help you do that. Join me for The Eight Pieces of Brocade standing set beginning Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at 9:30AM (EST). Holistic Shamanic Training

Qigong is the foundation of most martial arts and has its roots in Chinese Medicine and Taoist philosophy. It imitates the movements of nature and is often considered both an exercise and a form of meditation. Qigong emphasizes the harmony and health of body, mind, and spirit.
In this workshop you will discover:
A brief history and description of Qigong
The benefits of Qigong practice
Movements to get us into a Qigong state: calm mind, energized body, elevated spirit
In my health coaching practice I teach 4 keys to optimal health: Diet, Quiet, Movement, and Happiness. When these aspects of an individual are balanced, good health and happiness abound and many ailments and dis-ease disappear. Tai Chi and Qigong effectively address 3 of 4 keys to optimal health in a fun and easy way, allowing us to truly heal, come into our own, and move beyond our pain and illness. Through regular practice you will open yourself to another level of healing and living and transform the way you move through life.
No experience is needed to enjoy the benefits of Qigong.
