Qigong has its roots in Traditional Chinese Medicine, early Shamanism, and Taoist philosophy. These ancient traditions believed in living harmoniously with nature and that the body has the ability to heal itself. Qigong is part of this system of self-healing that enables you to take charge of your own health, promoting vitality and longevity.
Qigong includes movements like postures, stretches, and flows, as well as acupressure, breathing techniques, meditation, and the power of the mind. Through these methods, qi (energy) is accumulated, moved, and stored in the body.
If we’re full of qi and we’re able to circulate that qi, we can heal more easily, no matter what the ailment is.
We have thousands of acupressure points in our bodies that run along meridians, or pathways of energy. These meridians are like rivers of energy that feed our organs, bones, and tissues. Acupressure points are the areas along the meridians that have the most influence in clearing blocks and increasing energy flow.
